Closing the Year in Style: Updates and Gratitude

As another year comes to a close, we can’t help but marvel at how quickly time has flown by! The past six months have been an exhilarating whirlwind of creativity, hard work, and exciting transformations as we poured ourselves into creating personalized, one-of-a-kind designs for our amazing clients.

Split, Croatia.

Reflecting on 2024

This year, we were honored by your trust and confidence in our boutique firm. It has been a privilege to curate dreamy, functional spaces for you. While our design process takes time and meticulous considerations to make each one uniquely yours, they require time and thoughtful collaboration—and as you know, we look beyond the surface layers of design. While this often means giving attention to unexpected things (and, yes, sometimes a waitlist), we know the results and the wait are always worth it.

We’re also immensely grateful for our talented team, virtual assistants, and network of professionals who help bring our visions to life. From sales reps, photographers, and showroom staff to 3D renderers, contractors, painters, upholsterers, marble suppliers, wallpaper installers, and window treatment specialists—their craftsmanship is the foundation of everything we create.

Project Highlights

We recently wrapped up a long-anticipated kitchen renovation, just in time for Thanksgiving. These longtime dear clients, for whom we previously designed the upper floors, patiently waited for years to transform their kitchen. The dining room and the entire first floor are getting a makeover to complement the stunning new space, giving our clients the perfect setting to host family and friends in style. While professional photos are on the way, here’s a sneak peek of the 3D rendering:

Earlier this year we photographed a beautiful townhouse we started designing in 2020. We had so much fun working with this delightful couple who have also become dear friends. We are very proud of this collaboration and we hope you enjoy a glimpse at their very personally designed spaces.

This entryway sets the tone with its stunning smoky marble and intricate ironwork details, creating a warm, welcoming vibe. We carried this elegance into the greeting and dancing room and the area bar. Our inspiration came from the timeless craftsmanship of Hermès horse saddles, paired with our clients' passion for horses and love for entertaining with their signature martinis. Every element in this space was thoughtfully curated to reflect our client's vision—blending comfort, elegance, and a touch of personal nostalgia. Heartfelt details like her mother’s candle collection bring warmth and history to the room, making it uniquely hers. She dreamed of having a space where she could unwind at the end of the day or enjoy quiet moments reading stories with her grandchildren. Our Inspiration for this serene and cozy corner came from a cherished photo our client shared—a beautiful chair with bright floral details that captured her heart.

Parisian Dreams Brought to Life: This exquisite home design was inspired by our clients’ shared love for Paris. For this dining room, we drew inspiration from the serenity of springtime gardens and the home's original leaded glass details, reminiscent of Parisian museums, creating the perfect foundation for this elegant and cheerful design.

Powder rooms are one of the most frequently visited spaces by guests, they offer the perfect opportunity to make a lasting impression. At Stella Ludwig Interiors, we see them as little jewel boxes—a chance to infuse charm and take creative risks. With bold colors, playful patterns, or luxe finishes, these small spaces can elevate your entire home. This powder room is a serene escape, inspired by the soothing hues of lavender fields and the gentle elegance of water fountains. Soft and vibrant purples paired with silvery tones blend seamlessly creating a cheerful and inviting space.

In the living room, we brought our client’s vision to life with stunning @degourney wallpaper panels, inspired by Parisian Gardens reminiscent of his French heritage, the cherished panels in his grandmother’s home. A vibrant purple sofa takes center stage and adds richness and personality, complementing a modern Monet-inspired area rug. Crystal Gold Leaf table lamps and a mix of new and refreshed furniture - including the client’s repainted side table-were carefully curated to complement the space and blend seamlessly into the design. Soft Lavender paint ties it all together creating a beautifully customized, personal, and timeless design the clients wanted. With their timeless charm, Fireplaces are often the heart of a room. For this project, we carefully restored its natural beauty and transformed it into a stunning focal point. Every element was thoughtfully curated to enhance its beauty, including the customized TV frame, which was designed to look like a piece of art.

We had so much fun working with this lovely couple designing this room that’s both serene and glamorous—a romantic sanctuary to relax and restore after a long day. Inspired by their love for each other, we chose cheerful art that is a joy to be greeted by each morning, bringing an uplifting and personal touch to the design. We transformed this small room into a restful retreat by incorporating creative storage solutions, utilizing every nook to maximize functionality. The custom antique mirror wall we designed reflects light and makes the space feel more expansive. With mirrored finishes, soothing colors, beautiful window treatments, strategic lighting, and thoughtfully chosen furniture, we created a space that blends style and practicality seamlessly.

Additional projects in Philadelphia, New York, and Florida are wrapping up, and we can’t wait to share their transformations through photoshoots in the new year.

Finding Inspiration

This fall, I returned to High Point, NC, to hunt for new vendors and resources that align with our vision of timeless, high-quality design. Check out the upcoming trends in furniture for the forthcoming years. Curves, neutrals, and deep colors were the most notorious, as we also noticed in Paris at the beginning of the year. Enjoy a few shots below. Traveling continues to be a wellspring of inspiration—from breathtaking architecture to stunning landscapes and unforgettable cuisine. My recent visit to Croatia and Montenegro offered a treasure trove of ideas. Who knows how these experiences might influence our future designs? Follow along on Instagram for upcoming snapshots during the new year.

Appreciation

As an interior designer, I was deeply honored to be invited to contribute to the guest experience at the prestigious Peninsula Hotel in New York City. Being chosen as the sole interior design firm recommended to their guests is a testament to our passion for creating truly one-of-a-kind spaces.

Looking Ahead

As the holidays approach, I encourage you to find inspiration in the little things wherever you are—whether it’s through travel, cherished moments with loved ones, or something unexpected that sparks joy. Those precious memories and personal experiences are at the heart of what I do, as I strive to infuse them into the spaces I design for you. Your stories and needs shape the creativity that fuels each project, making every space truly unique and meaningful.

Thank you for being part of our journey this year. We are so grateful for your trust and collaboration and look forward to another beautiful year of design together.

Wishing you and your family a warm and joyful holiday season!

With Gratitude,

Stella and team.
